CEREC®

CEREC technology is a valuable asset to any dental office because it provides quality dental care while respecting patient time constraints. This modern equipment can complete treatments in a single visit that, in the past, would have required return trips.

Dr. Dacen DeLaPaz provides the quality and convenience of CEREC technology to patients living in Belton and Harker Heights. At Dental Images, we restore health to teeth, treat patients like family, and provide time-saving dental treatments.

Save Time with CEREC Technology

CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics and it uses computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) to help with dental restorations. This enables your dental office to create prosthetics immediately in their office instead of relying on outside dental labs, thus saving you valuable time and money.

CEREC technology makes your dental treatments more comfortable and convenient. Using a scanner that takes a 3D digital impression eliminates the need for messy pastes and molds, as well as the intermediate need for a temporary restoration. CEREC software scans images that create virtual models of your teeth and oral structure. Then, the CAD/CAM immediately begins designing your customized prosthetic. Using a block of ceramic, the modern equipment sculpts it to the precise dimensions of your natural tooth.

CEREC Manufactures Several Restorations

CEREC technology is used to manufacture several prosthetic restorations, such as:

Crowns – Often placed after root canal therapy or on severely damaged teeth, crowns encase a whole tooth, protecting it and preserving its full function.

Inlays and Onlays -These rebuild portions of a tooth that have significant damage.

Veneers – These are ultra-thin shells used in cosmetic treatments to conceal discoloration, cracks and poorly shaped and aligned dentition.

The porcelain used in these restorations is matched to surrounding teeth and provides the natural appearance of tooth enamel. It is very durable and should last for many years when cared for properly.
